Whether it’s a sudden downpour or an expected shower, this lightweight and packable two-layer waterproof will keep you protected. The Aonach has been upgraded with a stretchy outer material for active use and given a mountain fit that is cut to allow excellent freedom of movement while still allowing room for layering over a midlayer.
The updated jacket now boasts a YKK Vislon® AquaGuard® Centre front zip that, along with an internal storm guard, seals the jacket so no water can get in. It has a mountain hood that’s fully adjustable and features a stiffened wire peak, helping you tighten the fit in high winds and maintain visibility during a downpour.
Pit zips are on hand to help you dump heat quickly, which come in handy on those steep, scrambly sections of a mountain trail. And if you get lucky and manage to avoid the British rain, the Aonach will pack neatly into your rucksack while still leaving room for your jelly sweets!

Don’t buy this !
This jacket is not waterproof
I agree with the previous comment, water penetrated through to my mid layer within half hour of fairly constant but not particularly heavey rain. In my opinion it either missed the waterproofing process. Or it's just totally inadequate.
Aonach ll
Wether it's due to my jacket not being waterproofed correctly in manufacture or it just not being up to the job in general it could not be used for any period of time in steady rain without it penetrating to my mind and base layers.
This was my experience twice after being in non torrential rain for probably not even an hour.
On the first occasion the rain noticibly leaked through the main zip.
My waterproof gloves were more effective than the coat.

Wore this in the rain doing my normal walk… bought this more expensive jacket because I thought it’ll protect me from the rain! Not a chance.. shoulders got soaked first the my chest ! Save your hard earned cash and buy something else!
