I have had two pairs of these. Bought the first pair full price and had to take them back within the year to be replaced due to splitting. The second pair have now split around the toe and sole after one further year.
When new they are incredibly comfortable and supportive but they are so poorly constructed. I have a pair of Grisport boots that I have had for 8 years and they are still in great condition for their age.
Don’t waste your money!
Have been wearing these in, in park and pavement. I think these pricey shoes are better suited for hard, uneven rocky terrain. They are stout, hard - thick socks must be worn otherwise they feel harsh on grass and pavement. Insoles too hard - I changed mine out for softer insoles. Toe box on small side (personal comment only). Quite alarmed at heel wear rate after only walking 40 miles or so. Gortex lining sock is industry standard and seems to work - so far. For me, for grassy dale and vale perhaps too 'hard'. Lace design is good, simple bow does not become undone.
2nd pair of these I’ve bought, rugged but light weight, I wear these on trails and mountain tracks. The shape suits my wide feet.
