My second pair of Scarpa Terra boots. Although the description on the Scarpa web-site infers they are for low level trekking, I use them for full on hill walking. This includes backpacking where kit weight is important for multi-day expeditions. Quite capable for scrambling over the boulders of Bowfell, round to the ridge of Scafell Pike before the tedious scree chute of Lord's Rake to reach Scafell summit. Superbly waterproof with the Gore-Tex lining-but don't forget to wax the boots regularly, to ensure leather stays in top condition!
This is my second pair of these boots. The first pair have lasted 6 years and as I have two dogs they are worn 24/7 to walk them in woodland on a daily basis. The actual leather uppers are still good but the heel part of the sole has worn. I did not hesitate in buying another pair. They are so comfortable from day one and waterproof too.
I have now bought 3 pairs of these over the years and they have proven to be the best value because they have lasted twice as long as any other makes that I have bought. They are comfortable and don't need any breaking in. Important to look after them though - I wash them off after every use and use beeswax to keep them supple.
my second pair of these boots which happily haven't been changed in design or last shape.
Old uppers are still in great condition (no splitting) but tread has worn on the soles after considerable use. perfect fit for me ( crucial point) and the new ones are just as snug and comfortable on first fitting. great hiking boots and the leather / gortex combination provides true waterproofing. L.ovely to be able to stay with a boot that suits. just check the fit and you're away.
I bought these boots as an identical replacement boot for the ones I had previously owned and worn out.
As soon as I put them on it felt like I was wearing my old boots. Perfect.
Like wearing slippers.
These are very comfortable straight out of the box, what I have found is that they are not too great for grip when walking on wet rocks, I now use Scarpa rangers for hillwalking as a result. They do tend to go around the front stitching but if used in dry they will last a good while.
They are slightly wide for those that need that.
They suit me down to the ground for dog walking on grass and tarmac. Winter will require a different approach unless road waling.
Tried on and perfect fit for size 9. Not yet walked any distance in. These, but they are identical to a pair of Scarpa boots purchased years ago and seen much action. Easy to order, cheapest price online with free delivery; what’s not to like? Looking forward to several more years hiking.
My third pair of Scarpa’s, comfortable straight out the box and wear well. Would recommend (and ultimate outdoors too).
Spent a lot of time looking at replacement walking boots, my partner has had a pair of these for 5 years and they still look like new.
They are comfortable right out of the box, have a quality look and feel, and look robust enough to last.
This is my fifth pair of Scarpa Terra boots and unlikely to be my last. I've tried others but come back to these because they're so light, incredibly comfortable and sufficiently robust for the use I put them to - my daily dog walk, regular hill walks and the occasional moderate mountain climb. They also keep out the water, with only one pair having leaked after considerable use. There's only two things I'd say to be aware of. The soles do tend to wear over time - not unreasonably so but I've had boots which lasted longer - and they scuff quite easily. Other than that they're excellent.
They are great boots light and rugged, quality appears good. Only issue is a bit tight for the size, would in future go for a size bigger, all boots differ and a wider fit would make a big difference but hoping they will stretch a little over time but a good sound boot.
A good comfortable boot and so far so good with no complaints.
My first ever pair of Scarpas. They replace a 4 year old pair of Mammuts, whose soles were constantly coming unstuck from their uppers. My local cobbler's repairs lasted longer than Mammut's original adhesive.
In comparison, the Scarpas have a beautifully smooth action of the laces through their eyelets and an impossibly luxurious tongue for them to tighten against, producing faultless comfort and support. If the soles don't fall off like the Mammuts, I will add walking boots to my list that presently includes ice cream, coffee and motorcycles as things that are all best left to the Italians.
Great product, boots really comfortable from the start, waterproof and good looking boot.
These boots seem very well made and show every sign of being far more durable than cheaper varieties. They are 100% waterproof so far and very comfortable, apart from being ever so slightly tight at the toes. The price was 25% cheaper than at other stores. Very pleased with them.
I’ve just bought a new pair of boots after 20 years of walking in the previous Scarpa boots. I bought the same again as I honestly feel they are the best.
I received these boots (Size 11) at the end of March and in the subsequent 6 weeks have walked about 100 km in them in the Scottish countryside in wet and dry conditions. Initially they felt quite snug, but the leather has softened and now they are really comfortable boots. Scarpa boots have simple insoles and I replaced them with more supportive ones. I also own 10 year old Scarpa SLs (much heavier than the Terra's) and Scarpa Boreas GTX which are warmer (synthetic) and less waterproof than the Terra's. You can't beat leather.
Love these boots. So comfortable straight out of the box. Can't fault them.
This boots came right out the box from new, i did a 10 miles walk across Dartmoor with no problem at all so so comfortable. Went to the Lake District in April no problems the boots grip really well. Wednesday 15 May 2024 i did walk of 11 miles on difficult terrain out to Fur Tor Dartmoor national park. The ground was very challenging very wet underfoot boggy Tussocks and streams crossing. My feet remained totally dry and comfortable, i also like how light the boots our. Perfect weight for me after my revision right hip replacement. I would definitely buy them again
When I first bought these boots I was impressed by how comfortable they were straight from the box. Subsequently I enjoyed many miles of walking wearing them and was pleased by their performance and durability. When the first pair of boots eventually wore out on the soles, I bought another pair straightaway. Again, they were comfortable from the outset. This is the third pair of these boots that I have had. I hope that Scarpa continue to produce them; having found such a good boot I see no reason to change to another type.
